# MCP budget estimator

Estimate a monthly budget using your own vendor quote and pilot measurements. Default amounts are zero because no quote is assumed.

Use the tool on the [web page](https://mcpdirectory.fyi/tools/mcp-budget-estimator). It works without JavaScript.

## How to use it

1. Enter monthly server or plan fee.
2. Enter billable actions per month.
3. Enter actions included in the plan.
4. Enter overage price per action.
5. Enter upstream api and model charges.
6. Enter hosting, storage and logs.
7. Enter monthly operator effort.
8. Enter your internal hourly cost.
9. Read the result.

## How it works

Plan fee plus billable overage, upstream charges, hosting and operator effort. Inputs are your assumptions, not vendor prices. All inputs must use US dollars.

Included actions offset actions only. This model does not cover tiers, per-seat pricing or pooled credits. Convert a dated vendor quote into a per-action rate only when the contract allows that calculation.

For hosting context only, Cloudflare Workers lists a US$5 monthly paid-plan minimum, 10 million requests and 30 million CPU milliseconds included, then US$0.30 per million extra requests and US$0.02 per million extra CPU milliseconds. Source: Cloudflare Workers pricing, https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/platform/pricing/, fetched 2026-10-29. Those hosting meters are not MCP tool calls.

> Budget estimate only. Add taxes, exchange costs and other contract charges separately. Avoid counting a bundled hosting or API charge twice.
